ELK x Peta Hore

Our symbols  represent our passion and commitment to ethical and sustainable practices, transformed by Peta using an innovative material called Promeg, Australia's first 100% recycled polypropylene sheet. This sheer material transformed each icon, allowing the light to illuminate and shine through the wreath.

To support our values around sustainability, the wreaths have been created so they can be re-styled, coloured and fashioned for many years to come.

A visionary artist, visual merchandiser, prop and set builder, Peta Hore, has been refining her craft for almost 30 years, now heading up Scout and Wander as Senior Project Designer.

We visited Peta and her dog Basil in her space, to learn more about what makes her tick...

I grew up in…Donvale on an acre block backing onto a nature reserve. Lots of space for running amok with the rest of the neighbourhood kids.

My childhood in 5 words…noisy, busy, independent, uncomplicated and hopeful.

What brings me joy…watching my two children (Scout and Kit) grow into their own beautiful personalities.

How I describe my creative process…dedicated, passionate, perfectionist.

My workspace in 3 words…Basil (studio helper), hectic or calming.

IN THE STUDIO I LISTEN TO…Rufus Du Sol

MY TOP 3 DINNER GUESTS… My dad, and I'm also going to cheat and choose my High School friends who have stood by me and have encouraged me for the past 30+ years.

MY FAVOURITE MOVIE TO WATCH WITH THE FAMILY…The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty.

THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE SOMEONE HAS GIVEN ME…Trust your instincts and always believe in yourself.

If you are in Victoria, you can see Peta’s stunning installation at the ELK Stores.
